The main reason we are in the business of selling fair trade goods is because we believe it is our responsibility (as extremely fortunate citizens of the United State of America) to care for the earth and its people, doing no harm whenever possible. Fair trade does just that.

In our commitment to serve community near and far we are very particular about choosing the vendors we work with, selecting those who are invested in the populations they purchase goods from. There are some amazing companies giving generously to help uplift the people they work with and their communities.
In our business we have chosen to widen the fairly traded goods concept to include a few local artists. We live in a community with many creative people striving to put their talents to use in unique ways that feed the earth. It’s a joy to be a venue for beautiful handmade clothing, pottery and music coming from right here in northern Michigan.
Another way in which we act on our commitment to serve our local community is through financial contributions and time (and good love when there’s no time or money!) to area non-profits, schools, fundraisers for families needing help; whatever arises that we are able to give to. There are so many groups doing good work; it is astounding to see all of the energy that goes in and all of the amazing results that come out! We have been carried by many friends in our times of need and feel such a joy to be able to pass along the gifts of generosity, compassion and kindness we have been shown.
